Town Pastors come from churches in and around Ipswich. We are out in Town on weekend nights from 10 to 4 (end times can be earlier, but now and then can be later).
If you
- care about young and not-so-young people
- have a heart for Ipswich
- can walk up to 7 miles a night
- can treat all sorts and conditions of people equally
- can stay with someone who is blind drunk for a couple of hours while they sober up
- are prepared to respond to all questions non-dogmatically
- accept someone whose lifestyle appears to be far from God(ly)
- can tell when someone is just hustling you for a Freddo
- can cope with messy people
- can give up a minimum of one night a month
- have the backing of your minister/pastor
then you may want to lay this before God, talk to some Christian friends, and look through the application forms. We recruit from time to time, and training covers theology, first aid, personal safety, prayer and a few other things.
